No matter how choosy you may be when it comes to food issues, Indian cuisine can’t leave you indifferent. And the good news is that you don’t have to travel as far as to India to have this unique experience: all you have to do is visit ‘Bombay’ - a newly established authentic Indian restaurant located in the heart of Soho Square in  front of Savoy Hotel in Nabq and indulge yourself with food prepared by an Indian chef Mr. Chef Tilak who shared his secrets of authentic Indian dishes with Sinai Weekly.

Bombay’ is a northern Indian restaurant, the specialty of which is the famous ‘Tandoori’.

“Tandoori is not a recipe” – says the chef – “in fact it is a method of cooking. ‘Tandoori’ is a marinated meat or chicken cooked over an intense fire in a ‘tandoor’, which is a clay oven with hot fire. Marinated meats are lowered into the oven on long metal skewers and cooked in this smoky and extremely hot environment until done” – he continues.

But ‘Tandoori’ is not the only delicates you can try in here, the menu is saturated with absolutely fantastic dishes, among which we recommend you to try ‘Samosa’ (Deep fried potato or chicken wrapped in puff pastry served with Indian chutney), ‘Aloo Chatt’ (Fried potato mixed with Indian spices and fresh coriander), tomato soup (see the recipe below) and for the dessert ‘Kulfi’ (Indian ice cream with almonds, dry fruit and spices). And the surprise is that it is all extremely affordable. Prices start from 12 L.E. per dish and already include tax and service charges.

The décor itself is also authentic: walls depicting Indian scenery, pots and plates designed in an Indian manner, soft traditional music and soft lights – make the atmosphere unforgettable. Attentive Indian staff is another (but definitely not the last) advantage of this place.

So no matter who you are: couples, friends or a happy family – you will all like it here and come to visit this cozy yet luxurious place over and over again.
