For all those nature lovers, this is heaven on earth as there are several bird species that can only be found in this part of the world. A visit to any of the local national parks should be on the books, as each has their own species and inhabitants of wildlife exclusive to them.

Ras Umm Sid
The lighthouse marks this fantastic local dive, which is usually done as a drift with reef to the left shoulder. This dive site is famous for its amazing gorgonian forest at 15 meters leading to a beautiful sandy plateau packed with soft coral and is home to many species of fish. The currents at the corner trap great quantities of plankton that attract a lot of pelagic fish. So, it is a good chance to see Napoleons, Eagle Rays, Manta and Sharks.
Bombay
Bombay’ is a northern Indian restaurant, the specialty of which is the famous ‘Tandoori’.
“Tandoori is not a recipe” – says the chef – “in fact it is a method of cooking. ‘Tandoori’ is a marinated meat or chicken cooked over an intense fire in a ‘tandoor’, which is a clay oven with hot fire. Marinated meats are lowered into the oven on long metal skewers and cooked in this smoky and extremely hot environment until done” – he continues.
Nuweiba & Taba
Taba is a frequent vacation spot for Egyptians and tourists, especially those from Israel on their way to others destinations in Egypt or as a weekend getaway.
Near Garden
The Near Garden is located northeast of Na'ama Bay, and as its name suggests, is nearer to Na'ama Bay than Middle Garden (located east) and Far Garden located even further to the east just before the mainland swings back to the west. Near Garden has a gentle slope which falls away to 20-25m and is a combination of sand and colourful coral formations and outcrops. If you head south from this slope it drops away on an increasingly steep curve until you reach 50m and beyond. Current is rarely a consideration here and this makes it ideal for night dives from Na'ama bay, or safari boats.
Woodhouse Reef
Located between Thomas and Jackson reef, Woodhouse reef is the narrowest and longest reef in Tiran.

Dance your way to the new Italian restaurant Charleston, located in the prime spot of El Mercato, just opposite Starbucks. Open from 4pm – 12am for dinner, Charleston will soon be serving breakfast and lunch in the very near future.
