Japanese carmaker Nissan in alliance with French carmaker Renault earlier declared that it will make its flagship compact car named Micra in India this year. The year 2010 is witnessing a number of compact car launches and a few months back, Ford led the assault with its aggressively priced Figo. Nissan has commenced the production of Micra. The car models are being made at the company’s Oragadam plant in Chennai as it has been reported. The car will be available in the show rooms from July.
The Nissan Micra will lock horns with popular compact cars like Maruti Suzuki Swift, Ford Figo and Hyundai i10 in the Indian market. Starting from today, the interested buyers will get a chance to see the car from up close as the models will be shown in the showrooms of Nissan all over the country. The pre booking amount has been set at INR 50,000.
